JaxPAL started in the 1960s with one officer who envisioned using athletics to change the trajectory of children’s lives. From this simple idea, the Police Athletic League of Jacksonville, Inc. (JaxPAL) began, and in 1972 was officially established.
The Police Athletic League of Jacksonville enriches the lives of children by creating positive relationships between law enforcement officers and the youth of our community through education, athletic, outreach, and teen leadership programs.
Our Unique Approach
Empowering Kids
With a STEAM-based curriculum, mental health counseling, mentoring, and nutritious food, our programs are equipped to help improve academic performance and meet the most pressing needs of the youth we serve.
Developing Leaders
Through on-the-job training, community service projects, leadership development workshops, conferences, and college and career preparedness, our teen leadership program ensures that our teens know that there are no limits to what they can achieve.
Instilling Values
Through our athletic offerings: tackle and flag football, track and field, cheerleading, boxing, and basketball, we provide our athletes with tools like increased self-esteem, social skills, and improved health and wellness.
Building Trust
Outreach is the cornerstone of our mission. Our initiatives bring officers and youth in our community together for positive interactions and constructive dialogue. Together, we are building a stronger
